Helen Johns lives in North East England with her husband Ian. Her career (unintentionally) divided itself into 10-year chunks. The first chunk was in fashion retail, including a stint with Selfridges in London.
The next decade was dedicated to post-16 special needs education for a national training company. It was here that she honed her excellent training skills.
She then established her own training & consultancy service and for the next 10 years worked on large national education
reform projects.
In 2012 everything changed when Helen’s Mum was diagnosed with dementia. Moved by the vulnerabilities of those
living with the disease, Helen felt compelled to switch her focus to training and consultancy in Health & Social care. This world of dementia care and meaningful activity has been her passion for the last 10 years. She cites this decade as the most stimulating, challenging and important of her career.
