Jack Mingo (born 1952) is an American author, journalist and beekeeper. He has written 60-some books, including Bees Make the Best Pets, The Whole Pop Catalog, The Juicy Parts, How the Cadillac Got Its Fins, I Am My Own Best Casual Acquaintance, and The Couch Potato Handbook. He and a small group of media hoaxers trademarked and popularized the term “couch potato.” He has written for The New York Times, Washington Post, Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader, and Reader's Digest, and syndicated a syndicated column, Random Kinds of Factness.
