Ian was first brought to public attention in the early 1970's when he received publicity in 'The Middlesex Advertiser' and 'Daily Mirror' for his hilarious jocular escapades involving members of the general public in and around his home town of Uxbridge. The newspapers gave him the nickname 'The Local Wag'.
Ian's great sense of humour is evident throughout the book with his humorous observations of hospital life, one-liners and irreverent wry witty remarks towards the screws.
