Robin Moore

Hi, I'm Robin Moore, an African-American woman from the south. Growing up, I experienced firsthand the lack of representation in children's media. I would often read books or watch television with characters that did not look like me or my family, and it made me feel left out and invisible. I knew that I wanted to help bring about a change. So I made it my mission to create positive content for our children to consume that would cover a range of genres.

My books cover various genres, including education, horror, comedy, tales, African folk lore, black history, and autobiographies of Black people. I believe that it is essential to give more representation for our children so that they can see themselves in the books they read and feel proud of their heritage.

One of my favorite books is "The Adventures of Anansi the Spider." This book is a retelling of traditional African folk tales that teach children important life lessons, such as the value of hard work and the importance of being kind to others.

Also, I was heavily impacted by "Autobiography of Malcolm X as told by Alex Haley." This book has been my favorite for many years because of the powerful story it tells. It has inspired me to write stories that have a positive impact on people's lives.

Through my books, I hope to inspire children to dream big and to believe in themselves, no matter what challenges they may face. I believe that positive representation of Black people in children's literature can help to build a more inclusive and equitable society, and I am proud to be a part of this movement.

My journey as a writer has been one of passion, dedication, and purpose. I am honored to be able to share my stories with the world, and I hope that they will continue to inspire and uplift children for generations to come.
