Robert T. Sharp DVM

Rob Sharp is a lifelong Ohio resident. Born in Niles, he received his A.B. in Zoology, and M.A. in Aquatic Ecology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for the next five years as a KC-135 instructor/evaluator navigator with the 17th Bomb Wing of Strategic Air Command, and is a Vietnam veteran. He left the Air Force to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, received his D.V.M. degree in 1979 and has practiced in southern Ohio since graduation.

Rob's first book, No Dogs in Heaven?, was published to resounding critical acclaim. It was also translated into Czech. An alert editor in New York read the book and asked him to write a column--"Ask a Country Vet"-- for the popular magazine Country Living. His expert and delightfully written answers to questions from readers across the country were read by millions during the five years he served as Country Living's "country vet."

The Bull in the Darkness and the One-Eyed Dog is his newest collection of stories from the life of a country veterinarian, and his adventures treating the problems on both ends of the lead.
