Sean Parshad

Born in California to Iranian immigrants, this author's journey to writing children's books began after leaving his tech job at Facebook in 2016. He had always been interested in film and used his newfound free time to write and direct movies that tackled controversial topics, often requiring in-depth discussions. However, his foray into the film industry proved unsuccessful and stressful.

Then, one day, everything changed. The author became an uncle to a boy named Theo, his nephew, and found inspiration to write a children's book as a memorable birthday gift for him. It was meant to be a one-off, but once he started, he couldn't stop.

Growing up in a world full of prejudice and racism, the author, now based in Colorado, didn't want his nephew to have to face the same challenges. He wanted to write books that promoted open-mindedness and challenged prejudice, so that his nephew could grow up in a more tolerant world.

The first book he wrote was a success and encouraged him to continue down this path. The author now dedicates his time to writing children's books with the theme of prejudice and open-mindedness, with the goal of promoting diversity, tolerance, and acceptance.

Drawing from his own experiences, the author infuses his books with messages of empathy and kindness, showing young readers that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their race, religion, or background. His books have become popular, with many parents and educators praising them for their powerful messages.

In his free time, he likes to travel, play chess, and spend time in nature.
