Alexander Durig earned a PhD in social psychology from the sociology department at Indiana University in 1992. On a post-doctoral fellowship he wrote, The Microsociology of Autism (1993), describing the logic of the Autism Spectrum 20 years before the nomenclature was announced by the APA in 2013. He published Autism and the Crisis of Meaning in 1996, and How To Understand Autism: The Easy Way in 2005. Closer To Consciousness (closertoconsciousness.com) extends upon his life's work in Social Inference Theory (SIT), which first described the relation between logic and meaning in social perception and autistic perception thirty years ago.
