Janet Schwartz

Janet Schwartz is a Mexican/American bilingual storyteller and journalist who writes and illustrates books for kids of all ages to inspire them to learn languages and care for the planet. Janet is also a passionate teacher of Spanish, English, ESL and Spanglish with over 30 years of experience. She won a Fulbright Scholarship Award for studying the ancient Maya civilization and has co-authored several books on Maya textiles. Janet has worked for international news organizations such as AP, AFP, The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, covering topics such as indigenous migration, human rights and culture in Mexico and Central America. She also developed an artistic hybrid photo-painting technique that has been exhibited around the world.
