After a working life as a seaman, teacher, lawyer, auditor, I've retired with my patient calm husband to a small piece of paradise in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, surrounded by granite boulders, kangaroos, friends. And now my little book, Rhyme and Reason, has been published. It tells the story of English history through nursery rhymes - who was Humpty Dumpty? Why was a baby in a tree top? The conflicts between monarch and parliament, protestant and catholic - these rhymes were political satire, and now morphed into rhymes for children.
