Ivannia Murillo

Ivannia Murillo is a psychologist, author, speaker, consultant, and specialist in gender, diversity, and inclusion. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s degree in Project Management with a gender-focused approach. She has furthered her education through international certifications in Disruptive Leadership from EAE Business School, Inclusive Leadership and Diversity Management from ESADE Business School, and Corporate Diversity and Inclusion Services Management (GSDIC).

In 2023 and 2024, she was recognized by Revista Summa as one of Central America's 150 Most Powerful Women, an honor that adds to a career dedicated to leadership, talent, and organizational transformation.

For more than fifteen years, she has built her career at the intersection of people and organizations. She served as CEO of a consulting firm from 2018 to 2024. Throughout her career, she has supported more than 10,000 people in developing their professional careers and worked with more than 1,000 organizations in attracting, managing, and developing talent.

Her fascination with human behavior has been the common thread throughout her life. From psychology to leadership, business management, diversity, and inclusion, her work has focused on understanding how people shape their lives and how organizations can become more human, diverse, and equitable spaces.

She has led initiatives focused on cultural transformation, awareness, and education in diversity and inclusion. She was part of Platzi’s first Diversity and Inclusion course, served as the producer of the First Central American and Caribbean Congress on Diversity and Inclusion, and produced the Mujeres Disruptivas event for nine years.

Her career has also been shaped by writing and by a desire to address conversations that often remain unspoken. In 2023, she published her first book, Christian, Professional, and Promiscuous: A Simple Way to Understand Gender-Based Violence. That same year, she contributed as a co-author to Adaptive Organizations.

Over time, her curiosity about human behavior has also turned toward more intimate territory: love, desire, freedom, loneliness, relationships, and the contradictions that shape our connections with others.

Ivannia believes that a woman can be professional and sensitive, rigorous and passionate, feminist and romantic, strong and vulnerable all at the same time. Her writing is born from this conviction and from a desire to explore the many dimensions of who we are, without having to choose just one version of ourselves.

After years of listening to the stories of thousands of people, she now also writes to explore the questions that connect us all: Why do we choose each other? How do we love? What hurts us? What transforms us? And what traces do we leave in the lives of those who accompany us?

Because, in the end, the young woman who began studying psychology at seventeen with more questions than answers is still the same. The difference is that now, she enjoys the questions much more.
