I love romance. Actual romance. I also like romance stories, but I love romance, and I've been studying it many years. I wanted to buy an anthology of love poems that celebrate romance--mostly excluding heartbreak and missed love poems--but when I concluded there wasn't one, I started compiling my own list. Then I thought others might like it, so I started putting them into a manuscript, which became "Crimson Leaves."
While working on that, I came across an 18th century love poem that mentioned the name Lindamira, and I got curious and started researching to see if I could find out who that was. That turned out to be the character from "The Adventures of Lindamira," with an unknown author, first published in 1702, and out of print. It's a great romance novel, perhaps the first one originally written in English, and I made the effort to bring it back in print. Since it's print on demand, it should always be in print from now on.
Then while waiting to hear from a poetry publisher about "Crimson Leaves," I got the urge to write a novel, which turned out to be both literary fiction and a contemporary romance, which I've titled "Spectrums of Romance and Redemption."
And after never hearing back from the publisher, I'm getting ready to self-publish "Crimson Leaves" in time for Valentine's Day 2024.
I hope you enjoy them all.
