Welcome to my humble page.
My name is Philip Nolan, and I am a poet.
As of the time of writing this, I currently have five different titles under my belt, all of which have been published here on Amazon.
As a deeply committed Christian, many of my titles focus upon Christian themes, where I get to explore my own innermost thoughts and ponderings towards my faith. My understanding of my faith is constantly growing, changing and evolving, as do I on this journey through time we call life. I am very aware of my own mortality, weaknesses and inherently sinful nature, and these are themes that I explore a lot of throughout titles such as 'The Voice on the Wind' and 'The God of Ukraine'. I am also extremely, if not more so, thankful for what God and His Son Jesus Christ has done for me. His life, teachings, death and resurrection are something that govern how I live my life today, and much of my thanksgivings comes out in poetry form.
Indeed, it wasn't until aged thirty-seven that I truly discovered my capacity and expertise at writing poems. One dull day in December 2021, alone in an office, I began out of nowhere to put into words how the nativity of Christ would look and sound in poetry form. After wasting no small number of A4 paper sheets, I eventually put together my first official poem, which formed the basis and inspiration of my first self-published book of poetry, 'The Voice on the Wind'.
As well as my faith, I also have a deep love of nature, the natural world and all aspects of God's creation. My book 'Poems in the Park' is an excellent representation of this, which consists of over one-hundred poems about my local park.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking in the countryside, art, painting and exploring nature. I am also deeply grateful for my four beautiful children, to whom I dedicate all of my poems, as well as everything else I do in life.
Over time, I'm sure my range of poetry books will grow, as they are as much of an exploration of myself, as they will be to you if you chose to read them.
Thank you for reading,
Mr Philip Nolan
