First a sea cadet as a teenager, Guy Boulet enlisted in the reserves, in 1986, as an officer in the Cadet Instructors Cadre before transferring, in 1997, to the Naval Reserve, at HMCS MONTCALM, as a maritime surface operations officer.
For the next 23 years, he held various positions within HMCS MONTCALM, the Naval Reserve Headquarters and Fleet School (Quebec), including, among others, the position of commanding officer of HMCS MONTCALM, from 2015 to 2018 and of 2019 to 2020, before retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces after over 34 years of service.
Passionate of history, he took advantage of the centennial of the Naval Reserve and HMCS MONTCALM to publish this work recounting the hundred years of the naval presence in Quebec.
