Gene Strother

Gene Strother also writes under the pen name, LA Holly. He has authored five books (four as LA Holly), written for newspapers, magazines, and provided writing services to online businesses in the United States and Canada. He currently serves as president of an insurance adjusting training school and vice president of an independent insurance adjusting firm.

Gene served in church ministry for 20 years, including 13 as senior pastor. He has been a middle school teacher and private school principal, and done so many other odd jobs and held so many assorted titles, this would feel like fiction is they were all listed. Gene is a wordsmith. Words are his tool, his toy, his craft, and his passion. He published his first book, a novella called The Preacher's Kid, in 2002 under his pen name L.A. Holly. He has just released his first book of poetry, Word Warrior: Killing Them Softly One Rhyme at a Time.

Gene is married to Donya Weir Strother, and has been for more than four decades. Together, they have three daughters and four grandsons, not to mention a passel of grand dogs. They live alongside 7 million other unfortunate souls in the hustle and bustle of Dallas/Fort Worth.
