Michael Willis

After working for 40+ years as a Human Resources Generalist, starting his career out as an Employment Manager for a municipality and ultimately rising to the position of Vice President of Human Resources for a major Florida based family-owned business, Michael retired from full-time employment. As he began contemplating his next move, after all he was still an active person with a high level of energy, he always had a desire to write about the strange but oddly true behaviors employees would exhibit in the workplace. One of the most perplexing and sometimes head scratching elements of human resources and the one responsibility that an HR generalist most dreads but consistently required to deal with..."unacceptable employee behavior in the workplace". Michael began writing a book about human resource incidents and issues that just didn't make much sense as time after time, employee (and management) would choose to demonstrate such behavior on occasion that "you just couldn't make up". In addition, Michael continues to perform HR consulting work to "keep his hands" in the profession while he finished his manuscript with an effort to start book number two. "Getting to the End" is the tale of a senior level HR Executive who is near the end of his career, a long and challenging, but rewarding effort that he wouldn't trade for anything...even though he loves to exasperate about the stress and dealing with all those nonsensical antics some people demonstrate in the workplace. What the lead character in Michael's entertainingly written story does not know...what is going to happen to him as he tries to resolve an ongoing problem at his work that may prevent him from not only getting to the end of his career, but it might end his life as well. Michael Willis was a transplant to the Central Florida area as a child, prior to Disney World's existence which has seen many changes during his lifetime. He has four children and three grandkids who will always have his deepest affections and a strong family unit with his three siblings who live in close proximity. He enjoys fishing, golf and a good Cabernet Savaughn with dinner as well as a neat glass of bourbon on occasion. You are highly encouraged to read, "Getting to the END" which will give you some insight into the world of human resources, from an inside perspective. You won't be disappointed.
