Kusha Sefat is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at the University of Tehran. He obtained his Ph.D. as a Queens’ College Walker Scholar in Sociology at the University of Cambridge in 2017 and received the Best Dissertation Prize from the Foundation for Iranian Studies in the United States. Kusha brings Science and Technology Studies and, interrelatedly, the new materialism to bear on political, cultural, and environmental sociology with an emphasis on the global south. His work has been published in English and Persian in various journals, including Media Culture and Society, International Political Sociology, International Journal of Baudrillard Studies, Michigan Quarterly Review, Faslnameh Motaleaat-e Farhangi va Ertebataat (in Persian), Faslnameh Motaleaat va Tahghighat-e Ejtemaee Dar Iran (in Persian), and Jame-e Shenasi-e Honar va Adabiyat (in Persian). Kusha sits on the Editorial Board at Cultural Sociology.
