Michael Henry is co-founder and Executive Director of Lighthouse Writers Workshop, one of the largest literary arts centers in the country. His poetry and nonfiction have appeared in places such as The Writer, 5280 Magazine, Georgetown Review, Threepenny Review, and Copper Nickel, and he’s published two books of poetry, No Stranger Than My Own and Active Gods. His latest book, Mountain Biking the Colorado Trail, was released in the spring of 2023.
He holds a BA in English from the University of Rochester and an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College, and has received fellowships from the Colorado Council on the Arts, PlatteForum, and a Livingston Fellowship from the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. As a teacher, he’s led workshops for advanced writers as well as community-focused workshops for adults living with cancer, critical care workers, at-risk youth, and generative workshops in museums and other art centers.
