Donna Mitchelson

Donna Mitchelson has been an artist since her childhood. Donna majored in painting at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, and earned a Bachelor's and Master of Fine Arts Degree. She illustrated many children's books for other authors over the years. One day, Donna presented for the Forest Hill Elementary School, Camden, New Jersey, to demonstrate the illustration process. Therefore, she wrote a sample book for the demonstration. The students enjoyed her presentation and asked if she would publish the book.

Donna followed the students' advice and decided to publish a final copy. "Duckie and Skye's Exploration" is about the close friendship of a duckling and a cygnet. The unique pair wander away from their friends and family to find that beautiful flower.
