Marek Sobieralski

Marek Sobieralski is an author and freelance writer based in Wiltshire, in the UK.

He regularly writes for History of War magazine, and published his first book – The Katyn Diaries – in 2021. This contained the first English language translations of diaries of Polish military officers and intelligentsia, who were murdered by the NKVD in April and May 1940. These opened a window into the individual and personal tragedies of these men, and give us an insight into their everyday lives in Soviet captivity, right up to the moment of their brutal executions.

He has also published a children’s book – Holly and Growler – and continues to work on various diverse writing projects.
