Clare Jones is an award-winning TV producer, writer, and co-author of the best-selling BBC ‘Unforgettable’ travel series of books sold internationally in over 20 countries. She is also the author/co-author of other popular titles such as the AA: 'Extreme Places of the World', AA: 'Key Guide to Spain', C4: 'Wild Things' and all of Julia Bradbury’s TV tie-in walking books, including 'Wainwright’s Coast to Coast', 'Wainwright Walks', 'Canal Walks' and 'Railway Walks'.
Her work has featured in a wide variety of publications, including the Sunday Telegraph, USA Today, the Scotsman, the Herald, Traveller, Geographical and Global magazines. Clare has most recently worked in TV and has produced and directed several documentaries, including a ground-breaking intergenerational experiment in which older adults and toddlers shared their day care (Hen Blant Bach / Care Share, Sony Picture/S4C), which won a silver award at the New York TV & Film Festival 2018, Celtic Media Award 2018 (Factual Entertainment) & BAFTA Cymru nominated 2017. The BBC Wales version of this format, The Toddlers Who Took on Dementia, had over 16 million views for its online short.
Before this Clare spent much of her time writing about adventure and travel. She was previously sponsored by Salomon in support of their 'Women Will' campaign and she was also a North Face sponsored athlete for her Inside Passage Expedition. From undertaking things like a ‘Genghis Khan warrior training course’ to being part of the first UK all-women’s team to sea kayak the 1500 mile Inside Passage from Canada to Alaska, she’s had her share of unforgettable experiences. Her latest book project is about a very different, unforgettable adventure as she embarks on a new journey of parenthood to a neurodiverse child.
