Jeff Emde

Before becoming a writer, I spent 26 years in the Central Intelligence Agency as an Operations Officer where my job was to recruit spies and steal secrets. My path to the CIA was unusual; from the bar world to the spy world. After graduating college, I managed a bar, The Bum Steer in Tucson, AZ. While trying to decide what to do with my life and not wanting to be bored, I applied to the CIA and, by some miracle, got hired. I took advantage of my engineering background to focus on high technology counterproliferation issues to include nuclear, chemical and biological weapons; as well as advanced conventional weapons such as directed energy and rail guns. I was never bored, got to see the world, and truly loved my job. I only started writing as a hobby after my children left home. During some post-retirement work, I was fortunate enough to meet Don Mann, a decorated Navy SEAL veteran and best selling author. When he asked me to co-author Black Sun Rising with him, my hobby became a bit more. I reside in Tucson with Danna, my wife of 30+ years and our menagerie. I enjoy writing with a sense of both realism and humor, and hope you find these books entertaining.
