My name is Andy Milne, I am married to Tracy with a son named Sam and a dog called Dude. I love skateboarding, writing, walking, reading and chilling with family and friends. We live in Bradford, UK.
I became a Christian age 19 and immediately found myself chatting with other skaters about Jesus. Most of my mates were skaters. Out of these two passions - Jesus and Skateboarding, I began to write 'A Skateboarders Guide to God' (Wipf and Stock, 2023) which looks at God through the eyes of a skateboarder, using stories and examples from the world of skateboarding to explain who God is and what He's like.
God then led me to join Church Army UK as an Evangelist. Tracy and I soon began Sorted - a youth church for unchurched teens. We learnt much about sticking with young people through their up's and down's, creating Christian community (the young people simply call it 'family'), sharing faith and enabling discipleship. You can read their stories in a book that shares the bigger narrative of Sorteds journey and our learning from it in 'The DNA of Pioneer Ministry' (SCM, 2016).
I now lead Missional Youth Church Network (MYCN) as we seek to help churches, leaders and dioceses engage their local young people, creating new Christian communities with those young people. www.mycn.org.uk
