After a working life in engineering I moved over to FE and then High School Teaching in 1998. I've always enjoyed writing poetry and short stories - beginning with bedtime stories for my children. I initially re-trained as a Technology teacher, but managed to progress through head of house, head of year and onto Assistant Head Teacher in a job I loved.
In my form times I encouraged my pupils to read - anything that took their interest. It was during these times that Harry Potter 'appeared' - sparking an interest in children's fantasy - eventually leading to ideas for my children's story (see below).
After retiring I 'developed' one of my short stories into a full length novel, sci-fi based with time travel to WW2, and links to conspiracy theories/UFO culture. This is currently being published on KDP/Amazon as "The Fuhrer's Time Machine." The sequel - "The Fuhrer's Paradox" is (hopefully) being published in mid 2023.
My children's story - Thomas Trixta's Tricky Tasks - was written as a gift to my great nephew, a dinosaur enthusiast and avid reader.
I (hopefully) intend to continue writing, even at my advanced age.
Reading not only educates but takes you to places you can only dream of.
