Chris Carpenter

Chris Carpenter is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox, as well as Nippon Professional Baseball for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows. A native of Bryan, Ohio, Carpenter attended Bryan High School and Kent State University. Chris developed a love for horse racing in 2021 when a close family friend told him about their horses, including a Kentucky Derby-winning horse. Chris was hooked immediately and began to learn as much as he could about the industry and has never looked back. Chris wrote this story in dedication to his first-ever horse, Benbang, who was a long shot in her debut race for Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. Chris resides in the Carolinas with his wife, Sarah, and two children.
