Rob Palkovitz

Rob Palkovitz has been a member of the Barn Vineyard Church since 1983 where he has served in various capacities: youth group leader, teacher, member of the pastoral team, member of the Global Outreach (missions) team, and as an elder for over thirty-five years. He is a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He is also Professor Emeritus of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Delaware. His research and professional writing centered on fathering and intergenerational relationships and development, with a particular emphasis on the relationships between patterns of father involvement and developmental outcomes for both men and their children. For over twenty-five years, Rob has done volunteer work alongside his family with urban foster and father-absent children. He has also participated in community development work in Togo and Kenya. Rob helped to launch Waterbrook Hills, a nonprofit organization that works to enhance social justice and facilitate positive life opportunities and family functioning for persons in challenging circumstances. He enjoys hiking, trail running, working in woodlands, and conversations over good coffee. He can be reached at rob@aplaceprepared.net
