M. Rook Grimsley

M. Rook Grimsley is a horror author and poet. She has published two novels and a poetry collection (under the name M. L. Pope), and is currently working on both her next novel and a new poetry collection.

​M grew up in Mississippi and considers it her home. She now resides in the mountains of Arkansas with her family. Aside from writing, M also enjoys gaming, photography, and gardening. Her favorite authors are Edgar Allan Poe, John Saul, Jane Borodale, Meg Cabot, and Christopher Pike.

​M has been reading since before she began school as a child, and she started writing stories when she was in second grade. Her first story was about a mouse. She wrote her first play in seventh grade, and it was about a time machine. Her favorite books growing up were A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle, the Anne of Green Gables series by L. M. Montgomery, the Babysitters Club series by Ann M. Martin, and The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike.
