Yury Gitman is a toy designer and educator. He co-founded PulseSensor.com, which makes and distributes the ever-cool and oh-so-simple heartbeat sensor that works with most maker platforms. Yury has had the pleasure of teaching Toy Development and Creative Coding at Parsons School of Design since 2003. Yury's work has appeared in Newsweek, New York Times, BBC, and the Wall Street Journal. He was an Artist-in-Residence at Eyebeam and has also exhibited work with support of the Franklin Furance. He was awarded the Ars Electronica Golden Nica for Net Vision.
Yury earned a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, and Culture from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a Master's degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University. Yury resides in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and three children.
