Jonathan Rufo Bacolod

Jonathan R. Bacolod is a highly efficient and strongly self-motivated Mathematics educator with experience in the use of the Internet, computer software, and mobile applications in teaching. He possesses an intense passion for learning, a great desire for self-improvement, and a strong dedication to motivating interest in learning and developing independent, critical thinking in students.

Jonathan holds a Master of Arts in Education Major in Mathematics from the National Teachers College in Quiapo, Manila, which he completed in 2015. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in Mathematics from Arellano University in Legarda, Manila in 2012.

With his solid educational background, Jonathan has gained valuable experience in teaching mathematics. From June 2015 to the present, he has served as a Junior High School Mathematics Teacher at Sauyo High School in Quezon City. In this role, he has effectively taught various concepts and skills in Arithmetic, Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Geometry using direct instruction and demonstration.

From June 2013 to October 2018, Jonathan worked as a College Instructor at PUP San Juan Campus. During this time, he successfully imparted different concepts and skills in subjects such as Mathematics in Business, Statistics and Probability, Trigonometry, Solid Geometry, Fundamentals of Research and Thesis Writing, Principles of Teaching, and Measurement and Evaluation. He also conducted performance assessments through quizzes, exams, and boardwork.

Jonathan is a professional licensed teacher, having passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers in September 2012 with a rating of 87.0\%. He is a competent educator with the ability to teach Basic Math, Intermediate and Advanced Algebra, Plane and Solid Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Business Mathematics, Probability, and other fields of Mathematics.

In terms of computer skills, Jonathan is proficient in statistics and programming languages such as R, Bash, and Python. He is also skilled in typesetting and word processing tools including MS Word, LaTeX, and MS Publisher.

Jonathan has been recognized for his academic achievements. In 2012, he graduated Magna cum Laude from Arellano University, consistently achieving First Honor. In 2011, he was awarded Best Research Paper at the university's First Students' Research Congress.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Jonathan has a variety of interests. He enjoys data analysis, research, document typesetting, programming, and using free and open-source software (FOSS) in his work. On a personal level, he engages in activities such as playing the piano, guitar, and drums, cooking, songwriting, and stenography.
