During my life I often wondered if I could write a book but didn't think at the age of 72 that I would achieve it!

I started work aged 15 as an office junior in London and retired aged 64. After some years as a telephonist I trained to be a nurse at St. Thomas' Hospital in London. It was hard work but so rewarding.

When the first Covid lockdown happened I lived on my own and not seeing my daughters and grandchildren was awful. My daughter Natalie suggested we Facetime so that I could read a bedtime story to my grandchildren Kaiden and Alexa.

I jotted down three or four stories and it really helped to connect us.

My sister encouraged me to send my stories to a publisher and they accepted one! The story is called Clarence the Clumsy Monster. The theme that I wanted to get across was that every child has a talent and just because you are a little bit different doesn't mean that you can't succeed in life. Every one of us is unique.
