Roger Loomis

Roger Loomis is a leader in both pastoring and parenting. Working alongside his wife, Lori, he has pastored six churches in Alabama, North Carolina, and Ohio over the past forty-five years. He and Lori are also the parents of four grown children, two sons and two daughters—giving the couple a wealth of parenting experience from which to draw. They currently have eight grandchildren, as well.

In Raising Parents Is Tough, Roger has combined his unique personal experiences into one dynamic book that gives parents a wake-up call to guide their children well in a world where anything goes. A world where children are often left to the devices of popular culture to derive their values and develop their behaviors. As a graduate of Evangel University, conducting postgraduate work at Liberty University, Roger artfully weaves Scripture throughout Raising Parents Is Tough to help reinforce the critical points he makes to readers.

Roger and Lori co-founded and are currently pastors of Hope Community, a nondenominational church in Jefferson, Ohio. The couple is also ordained with the E4 Ministry Network, based in San Diego, California.

The Loomis’s also have a heart for missions work, preaching in Kenya and Pakistan. For ten years, Roger served as a hospice chaplain, and to this day Lori leads annual missions trips to Kenya.

Of the oftentimes challenging roles of pastoring and of parenting, Roger notes a special synergy, saying, “Really, pastoring is parenting.” And in a culture where many parents themselves were poorly parented, Raising Parents Is Tough is his gift to any parent or couple that finds themselves in need of guidance.

Roger is also the author of Monday Morning Preacher, a composite of knowledge gleaned during the couple’s forty-five years of co-pastoring.
