Patrick Kinsella

Patrick Kinsella is an author, editor, photographer and journalist who specialises in scribbling stories about outdoor shenanigans, and telling tales about trails and ales. In pursuit of a good yarn he has canoed the Yukon River in Canada, skied across the roof of Norway, climbed Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro, run ultra-distance races in Mauritius and the Indian Himalaya, mountain biked through the red centre of Australia, hiked to the very bottom of South America, scuba dived on volcanoes in the middle of the Indian Ocean and set speed records for trail running New Zealand’s Great Walks.

Pat now lives in Devon with his long-suffering wife, two indomitable daughters and an indefatigable dog. Besides writing for various outdoor-focused magazines and websites, and contributing to scores of Lonely Planet and Insight Guides titles, he has authored two walking books that explore myriad coastal and countryside paths around Devon and Dorset, a book about pub walks around the UK and a title that takes readers around Britain via 30 exhilarating adventures.
