Alessandro Beati, born in Laives (BZ), Italy in 1962, graduated in electronics in 1985 and worked for forty years in telecommunications. In 1993 he began to study sacred music and for thirteen years founded and directed the choir of St. Mary Magdalene of Vadena (Pfatten), a small village in the Province of Bolzano and the setting for the novel. For fifteen years, from 2005, he served as mayor of that community, during which time he founded and directed the Choir of Mayors of South Tyrol, the only one of its kind in Italy. Today he devotes himself to his family and to writing. This is his first book.
