Robert Elland

Robert Elland (Rich Musgrave) is an English Writer, musician and performer.

Originally from Yorkshire, his family moved to the Midlands where his father was a newspaper and magazine editor.

In the 1980s he worked as a drummer in a variety of bands, switching to guitar/vocals in the 90s - supporting Midge Ure with The Red Room and recording with Queensville Wakes., More recently he has guested as percussionist for Ivor Novello award winning singer/songwriter Scott Matthews.

Having started working in education in 2003 he began writing short form articles for magazines in 2013 and longer-form pieces in 2019.

Described as "having a similar absurdist voice to Douglas Adams but with a distinctly Northern accent", in response to a contribution to his BBC Radio 5 Live programme, Mark Kermode commented that Elland was 'someone who can really, really write with a flourish - with a curlicue!'

In 2023 Elland completed his first novel – “Love & Light & Marzipan” and currently has several fiction & non-fiction projects at various stages of development.
