Debra Murphy

Debra Murphy is a Yorkshire-born author, storyteller, and self-publishing consultant based in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. She writes for both children and adults, with a warm, humorous voice that runs through everything she does.

Her children's books bring Scotland's landscape and folklore to life through the eyes of a very special Border Collie, while her adult titles draw on her own extraordinary life — from running a much-loved tearoom in Falkirk, to discovering the joys and mishaps of life on the road in a campervan, to asking the questions nobody else thought to ask.

Debra publishes independently under her own imprint and is a passionate advocate for self-publishing done well. She is a member of the Society of Authors and the Alliance of Independent Authors, and helps other writers navigate the world of self-publishing.
