Jordan Tama

Jordan Tama is a political scientist (PhD, Princeton University) and a professor at the School of International Service at American University. He writes about the politics and process of U.S. foreign policy, explaining how U.S. leaders conduct foreign policy and why they act the way they do when they turn their attention overseas. In addition to publishing four books, he has authored numerous journal articles, policy reports, and articles in major newspapers and magazines. He has also worked outside academia as a fellow on the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission in the U.S. House of Representatives, a foreign policy speechwriter, and a counterterrorism and intelligence policy advisor on Barack Obama's first presidential campaign. He is the co-director of Bridging the Gap, which connects scholars and policy makers on international issues, and a non-resident senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He lives in Washington, DC.
