Steph Cole-Lewis

Steph Cole-Lewis is the founder of Handmade Bosses, a business educator, author and former handmade seller helping creative people turn the things they make into businesses that actually make money.

Her own handmade business journey began in 2015, when she opened an Etsy shop while recovering from emergency surgery. What started as a way to escape a job she desperately wanted to leave quickly grew into a successful online business, allowing Steph to quit her job in April 2016 and become self-employed full-time.

After other handmade sellers began asking how she was getting results, Steph founded Handmade Bosses in 2019. Since then, she has helped more than 1,000 makers through her programmes, products and training, covering everything from Etsy and pricing to branding, marketing, mindset and sustainable business growth.

Steph’s approach to business is practical, straightforward and refreshingly free from unnecessary complication. She believes handmade business owners don’t need more hacks, hustle or things added to their to-do lists — they need strong foundations, good decisions and a business that works for their life.

Her book, *How to Be a Handmade Boss*, brings that philosophy together into a practical guide and workbook for anyone who wants to start, grow or make more money from a handmade business.

When she isn’t talking about handmade businesses, Steph can usually be found enjoying life on the south coast of England with her husband Ash and their dog, Phoebe.
