John Smilek is an experienced CIO with over 30 years of knowledge in the business-technology sector. Throughout his career, he has served on numerous councils and advisory committees and has gained a reputation for his unique ability to identify patterns that are often missed and thereby anticipate outcomes.

In addition to his work, John is known for his strong commitment to community building and multicultural interfaith relations. During his free time, he frequently connects with local councils, state and federal officials, community organisers, and humanitarian organisations, working tirelessly to build bridges across diverse communities.

John’s exceptional skills and knowledge have also led to frequent invitations to speak, teach, and instruct others across his broad scope of experience. He is passionate about sharing his expertise with others and helping communities to thrive through collaboration and cooperation.

He is happily married with two sons and cherishes every moment spent with them. John is also an avid reader and can often be found buried in a good book, or indulging in sports and adventurous activities such as snowboarding, skiing, hockey, hiking and even skateboarding.
