I am a former broadcast journalist, now writer, and live in Deptford, London, UK.
When I worked for News & Current affairs at the BBC I travelled widely. I was standing on a hillside in Tunisia one day, looking out over the bay of Tunis. Embedded in the landscape before me was a shining doughnut of water. It turned out to be the remnants of the ancient harbour of Carthage. From that moment I began to imagine what it must have been like to live in those times and travel the seas.
The two books in The Delphis Series followed. By the Horn of the South was the first. By the Pillars of Herakles, its prequel, was released a year later.
