Patrice Simpson

Patrice Amoy Simpson was born on May 3, 1995, at Falmouth Hospital in Trelawny, welcomed by her parents, Nicola Watkis and Patrick Simpson.

A bright child, Patrice started school at two years old and quickly mastered the curriculum. She attended Falmouth Infant School, Falmouth All Age School, St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School, and The Undergrad Group of Schools, excelling academically and often taking on leadership roles. Her passion for reading led her to join the Trelawny Parish Library, participate in numerous reading competitions, and even enter the Spelling Bee competition in 2005.

Despite a promising childhood, Patrice faced emotional challenges when her father migrated to England when she was six. The experience left a lasting impact, and in her teenage years, she struggled with self-doubt and lost sight of her purpose.

In 2017, Patrice found herself pregnant and unemployed, worried about providing for her child. During this time, she began writing short pieces in the third person, “she.” In November 2017, she gave birth to her son, Rozayn, which became a turning point in her life.

Determined to create a better future, she took a job as a Sales Representative at the Port of Falmouth when Rozayn was just three months old. In 2019, she enrolled in evening classes, balancing work and studies. Passing her exams gave her the confidence to return to writing, and she later published her first book, “SHE.”

Today, Patrice is a business owner, published author, editor, and writing consultant. She is passionate about inspiring young girls to forgive their past mistakes and believe in their potential. Residing in Falmouth with her family, she dreams of continuing her writing journey and building a legacy of strength, humility, and endurance.
