Jason Paul Steed grew up in Oregon. He earned his BA in English at Brigham Young University, his MFA in creative writing at the University of Idaho, and his PhD in American literature at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He was an English professor for a while, then he left academia, earned his JD at the University of Texas, and became a practicing attorney. In 2023, he left private practice and returned to academia to teach law at the University of Kentucky. His articles, short stories, and poems have appeared in a wide variety of publications. He was married for 28 years and has five children who currently live in Nevada, Utah, and Texas. He currently lives in Danville, Kentucky.
