My name is Christine Bray. I have been writing since I was a kid. I finally had an idea good enough to publish when I released Opal. Opal is my real life blind and deaf dog that I rescued. I also rescued another deaf dog named Pearl and hope to rescue many more animals. I wanted to share Opal's story after she went viral. People commented that blind and deaf dogs should just be put down. At first, I was angry at these responses. Then, I realized people just didn't know about blind and deaf dogs and their abilities. Opal is incredible and can do almost everything that a seeing dog can do. I hope to use Opal and myself to educate kids of all ages as well as inspire children to do whatever they are passionate about doing.
