J Douglas Dalrymple

Doug Dalrymple, an artist, maker, and writer from Chicago, was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Due to a congenital hyper-growth birth defect in his right hand, Doug's mother introduced him to art at an early age as a means of improving his fine motor movement and writing skills. Although she tried to make him a lefty, Doug is not ambidextrous. Despite being a single mother, she managed to gather enough funds to finance Doug's private watercolor classes with his junior high art teacher, which ignited his lifelong passion for art.
