Keith Abbott was raised on the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he earned a BA from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and a Law Degree from the College of Law at Ohio Northern University. For 37 years, he practiced law in Colorado, primarily in the oil and gas industry, contributing to the drilling, production, and operation of over 500 oil and gas wells for three different companies. His legal expertise also extended to litigation, including handling two high-stakes murder trials.
Keith Abbott's first novel, "The Spill," won the Silver Royal Palm Literary Award from the Florida Writers Association in 2023 for Best Book in the Thriller-Speculative Sci-Fi blend category.
Mr. Abbott is published in "The Colorado Lawyer" and has written award-winning short stories such as "The 100,000-Year War," and "2525-A Love That Defies Worlds." He is a member of several literary groups, including Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and the Florida Writers Association. He currently resides in Florida, where he continues to pursue his passions for bicycling and storytelling.
