Dr. Kemi Popoola is a native of Nigeria. She is a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, educator, author, entrepreneur but her favorite title/job is mom to her amazingly awesome 11-year-old son. She and her husband have been married for 19 years.
Dr. Popoola, a graduate of Spelman College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Argosy University, has spent the last 20 years advocating for children's access to high-quality education. She has also served as a science teacher, graduation coach, instructional coach, school improvement grant coordinator, and assistant principal, among other positions.
Even though Dr. Popoola has left her last position as an Assistant Principal, she continues to educate by training teachers to incorporate STEM into their lessons to increase student engagement. In addition, she is a certified wellness practitioner and founded Affinity Wellness Haven, LLC in 2022 out of her desire to continue to educate people about their health and wellness.
Dr. Popoola is the co-author of the Mediocre Teacher Project – a book that provides keys to overcoming teacher burnout in and outside the classroom. In July 2023, she also published the Affirmation Gratitude Journal, to help people practice daily affirmations and gratitude.
Dr. Popoola believes that gratitude and a winning mindset are the keys to leading a healthy life and she loves to share that message with her audience.
