Sharon Ward

Sharon Ward was born and raised by her grandmother on the island of Trinidad and Tobago, along with her four brothers. She attended Belmont Junior Secondary School’s evening shift, and she discovered her love for children at age 13 when babysitting a neighbor’s child before school. In addition to childcare, Sharon enjoyed cooking for her family and caring for their home. Three years after completing her high-school education at Tranquillity Secondary School, Sharon became a mother at the age of 18 and is now proud to have five adult children and six beautiful grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Sharon migrated to the United States in 2000 and worked as a Housekeeper and Childcare Provider. However, she was determined to pursue a better life and embarked on an academic journey in the medical field. Her passion for caring for others led her to complete her Home Health Aide (HHA), Phlebotomist, and Newborn Care Specialist certifications, and she eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management. Sharon is also the owner of De’Food Just Nice Catering Service and a Lifestyle Advisor with Opulence Global.

Despite her entrepreneurial spirit, her love for children inspires her to continue to provide professional childcare. According to Sharon, children, whom she considers divine gifts, learn to trust and rely on the people who take care of them and participate in their lives. As a Childcare Provider, she builds strong relationships with both the children and their families. She believes her talent of caring for and loving children is a gift from God.

Her book, My Nanny and Me, is the outcome of 22 years as a devoted Childcare Provider and a legacy for her grandchildren. Sharon finds inspiration in the quote “Broken crayons can still color,” which motivates her to strive for excellence. Apart from her multiple roles, Sharon pursues hobbies such as cooking, singing, and songwriting and continues to find ways to spread her light and love to others.
