An avid observer of humanity, I was raised among farm folk whose greatest form of entertainment was storytelling. An only child till age 8, I created my own playmates in my imagination. Growing up among some markedly eccentric characters, and spending my work life in public libraries, cemented my fascination with human behavior, and my favorite pastime is still people watching.
