Sam Rivers

I am a native Texas author who loves to write and help the readers live through the characters of my novels. I am a first-time novelist who loves to write stories with multi-faceted characters based on real-life situations that readers can relate to. I have written the first book in my five-book family saga: Love’s Never-Ending Gifts: “A New Beginning.” This is the starting point of my saga - a novel that is based on experiences my former students have shared with me. I am also writing a Christmas novel – “A Little Angel’s Christmas Tale” and “A Cowboy’s Heart.” My love of reading includes clean romance, war stories (especially true stories), happily ever after stories, the old West and pioneer stories, and Sci-Fi.

I have lived in Texas all my life. I am a retired high school English teacher with 22 years of experience teaching students how to write about topics they feel passionate about. Now, I write the stories that have lived in my mind since I was a kid. Writing is a form of relaxation for me that takes me away from the world I know to places I have never been. Our imaginations are powerful and allow us to explore and create worlds that live vividly inside of each of us.

I have been married for 47 years, and we have one daughter and two granddaughters who live nearby. We all love nature in all of her beauty. We love to camp, fish, and take nature hikes through the woods as we explore the mysteries of life. In retirement, my husband and I plan to travel across America. I am interested in the out of the way places, quaint villages, mountain living and her people, ghost towns, and historic battle fields on the Civil War.
