Frederick T. Martens

Frederick T. Martens was the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Crime Commission after serving and retiring from the New Jersey State Police as a Detective/Lieutenant. He has co-authored Police Intelligence in Crime Control (1983) with former New Jersey State Police Superintendent Justin J. Dintino. His book, We'll Make You An Offer You Can't Refuse: A Primer on the Investigation of Public Corruption (2015) provides a prolific analysis of the investigation of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, who was ultimately convicted of mail fraud and served 14 months in federal prison. His most recent book, One Detective's Journey Into The Abyss: Roads Traveled, Lessons, Learned, Villainy Exposed (2021) addresses some of the more memorable investigations he undertook during his career. Martens has served as an adjunct professor at Pennsylvania State University and The College of New Jersey, as well as his alma mater, Fairleigh Dickinson University. He routinely contributes as a book reviewer for Rutgers University Law School and School of Criminal Justice. He is qualified as an expert on organized crime in both Federal and State courts. Martens has published in excess of thirty articles in professional criminal justice and criminology journals. Martens holds advanced degrees from Fordham University and City University of New York/John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He currently conducts investigations in both the New York and Los Angeles metropolitan regions.
