Hello, everyone!
I am so excited to say I self published and released my debut novel. I am already working hard on the second addition to the Kasper Chronicles series. I am 32 years old, born and raised in a small port town in Upstate New York known as Oswego. I grew up playing sports, but never thrived academically. I signed my contract with the United States Marine Corps the summer before my senior year of High school. I wanted any reason I could get to leave my home town. I knew there was a big world out there. I didn't know where I wanted to go or what I expected to find. I just knew I wanted to leave. It's a place that is home to generations of people's families. Almost everyone is more than happy to stay, with their supportive families. Since that wasn't the case for me. I was never inclined to stay. I was an Avionics Technician on AV-8B Harrier Fighter Jets, in Cherry Point, North Carolina. After separating, I went to Burlington, Vermont. I stayed there for about a year, while there I worked in a four diamond culinary resort and spa. Which is where I fell in love with food. Then I found a job working for Chef John Delpha, who taught me to cook. After a year, I thought I could rekindle lost connections with my family. So I made my way back home after spending a few winter months homeless. After going through a gut wrenching break up and realizing my family had no interest in me still. I ventured to Cape Canaveral, Florida, where I cooked in two different restaurants right in the harbor between the cruise ship terminals. After watching one of the first SpaceX launches, with a successful landing. I decided to move on, this time I found myself in Imperial Beach, San Diego, California. Where I spent a couple weeks with an Uncle I had only ever met once in my life, and his family. He had surgery on his hand and needed some help preparing meals. After realizing we got along like family should. I was invited to stay, at which point I took a job working in The Loews Coronado Bay Resort. I worked for some of the most influential chefs of my career there. I loved my job so much I burned myself out averaging eighty hours or so a week. I asked for a night off because I had concert tickets. I didn't get it, so I called in sick then went to Dead and Company with my best friend at the time. I was so upset, I quit my job. Then began my journey of inner soul searching. I grabbed my box of rocks and a backpack, then sat on sidewalks up and down the west coast selling my wire wrapped jewelry. Until I got my pink bunny suit onesy and my first first motor home. Johnny Nickles and I prepared ourselves for music festivals and gem shows. Until I blew the motor, so I left it all behind. Then hitch hiked up to Eugene, Oregon. Worked on a legal cannabis farm and made jewelry until I got another motor home. At which point I hit the road again, until I got my last motor home. Life took some unexpected turns and made me realize I wanted stability and a place to call home. So again I headed back up to Eugene, Oregon. I helped open a restaurant in Springfield, I lost my job there. Then one of the two people I loved as friends and brothers Johnny Nickles passed away unexpectedly. The unforeseen circumstances sent me into a downward spiral. I spent eighteen months homeless. I broke my hand in the process, after my surgery i became
physically dependent on opiates. After struggling for months surviving in such a manner that I don't recommend any one to ever go through. I made the choice to go through detox. At that time God stood by me. He cleansed me of all my addictions including nicotine. I moved out to a Recovery Camp for veterans known as Veterans Legacy Camp. Where I wrote my first novel from start to finish. It was accepted for publishing by an actual publishing company but I couldn't afford their services. Confident in my ability to write I began writing the second novel of the series. Now months later I decided to self publish, as I wait for my first semester of business school to start. As long of a Bio as that may be, I barely scratched the surface of my life. Later I plan to write a memoir when I can end it with a happy ending. So I can show people with God by your side, it's worth chasing dreams. No matter how difficult it gets, no matter how badly you want to give up, or how many times it feels like someone has their foot on the back of your head, while you lay there helpless. I know now that I have been on the journey that I have, so I could have the inspiration, and mental motivation to create literary art for all of you. I am so excited and happy to be here. Providing to an industry that I have always loved since I was a kid hiding between the pages of Harry Potter books. Thank you J.K. Rowling for proving to me that it could be done, you are my biggest inspiration. All that I create and build in the pages of my novels I owe to your profound influence on my life. You showed me against all odds it could be done. Now I hope I can provide the same kind of hope for someone else. I hope I can create the same kind of safe place for people that you created for me. Thank you all so much for your time. I will do the best I can, this is an exciting journey and I am pleased to be on it with all of you!
