Michael Leblanc

Michael's first writing project was a fever-dream of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fanfic in 1994. It was written pre-internet and no one other than his parents got to read it. He also tried to read it to his grandpa over the phone once, and was then told to choose another hobby.

Six years later, he scratched out a short story in a Mead notebook about a 'Faction Flyboy' that was influenced heavily by Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide. Though no one ever read that story, 'Flyboy' became the spark that exploded into a thick, black binder filled with planets, alien races, and intertwining plot lines. That binder, in turn, became various short stories that never saw the light of day.

But nothing caught fire as much the kindling that is Michael's life. His best writing experience has come from forming his traumas and successes into a book that sheds light onto the part of the military that aren't spoken about. Now, non-fiction speaks to him. He's keeping his ears open for stories from the small and quiet ones in the world.

Ultimately, he spent a lot of his time being quiet about the loud parts in his life.

It's time for him to get just as loud.
